Missed a fast for a valid reason? Simply leave that day unticked and make it up (qaza) after Ramadan, as Islam teaches.

Duas for Ramadan

Verified duas from the Quran and Sunnah — Arabic text, transliteration, meaning and source reference. The first one is the special dua the Prophet ﷺ taught for Laylatul Qadr.

⭐ The Dua of Laylatul Qadr

Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun, tuhibbul-'afwa, fa'fu 'anni.

Aye Allah! Tu muaf karne wala hai, muafi ko pasand karta hai, pas mujhe muaf farma.

Jami' Tirmidhi 3513

Aisha (RA) ne poocha: Laylatul Qadr mil jaye to kya mangu? Nabi ﷺ ne ye dua sikhayi.

Sayyidul Istighfar — the Best Dua for Forgiveness

Aye Allah! Tu mera Rab hai, tere siwa koi mabood nahi. Tune mujhe paida kiya aur main tera banda hun. Main apne ahd aur wade par qaim hun jitna ho sake. Main apne kiye ke shar se teri panah chahta hun. Main teri ni'maton ka iqrar karta hun aur apne gunah ka iqrar karta hun, pas mujhe bakhsh de, kyunke tere siwa koi gunah nahi bakhshta.

Sahih al-Bukhari 6306

The Last 10 Nights & Laylatul Qadr

The final third of Ramadan holds the greatest night of the year. A short guide, with sources, so you can plan those nights well.

Preparing for Ramadan

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic (Hijri) calendar and the month in which the Quran began to be revealed. Muslims fast from Fajr (dawn) to Maghrib (sunset) — no food or drink — while increasing prayer, charity, Quran recitation and good character. The countdown on this page is calculated live from the Hijri calendar, and the exact starting day is confirmed by the sighting of the crescent moon, so the first fast may shift by a day either way.

A calm way to prepare: fix your sleep around suhoor, plan lighter iftar meals, set a daily Quran target (even one page a day finishes the Quran's shorter surahs by Eid), and decide your charity in advance so the last ten nights — when Laylatul Qadr may fall on any odd night — are spent in worship rather than last-minute arrangements. Use the roza tracker above to stay consistent, and may Allah accept every fast.
